I love reading your website, seems to be the only place i can find good information on the MTHFR gene.
I have been tested and have the compound heterozygous MTHFR gene mutation.

I had a healthy baby girl 5 years ago without any complications.
Have been trying for another baby for about 3.5 years now. After two early miscarriages this was when my Dr did some secondary testing and discovered this defect in May.

My Dr recommended the usual high dose of folic acid (along with Clexane injections).
Aslo been on FSH injections with cycle monitoring.
Only took the folic acid for a few weeks before i started researching. I have now put myself on 1000 mcg of both Methyl B-12 and L-Methylfolate instead.

Though i just found that my Homocysteine levels were only at 5.1 umol/L

So this is not high at all. So does this means that my body IS methylating well… Or like you stated in your interview with Dr Hoffman that it could mean that my SAH levels could be elevated?
I just don’t know where to go from here…
How do i know if my body if prepared for pregnancy without the complications that can be tied to this defect.
