Menia –

Greece – that is a country I’ve yet been to but surely want to visit – gorgeous and great food – and likely great people ;)

Those with homozygous A1298C MTHFR mutations are most affected through poor digestive health, excessive protein intake, bacterial/viral infections.

If you have any of those issues, they must be addressed properly and now.

It is a must that you eat protein but do not overdo it.

Consider eating about 0.8 mg of protein per kg of body weight. This is the standard recommendation of protein intake. I would recommend less if you were not trying to get pregnant.

I do not think it is necessary to take 5 mg of folic acid. That has its drawbacks and you are able to make methylfolate – you simply have issues utilizing it well if your digestion is a mess.

Probiotics are critical. Immune support as well.

Baby aspirin I do recommend as there can be reduced blood flow in those with A1298C. Lovenox is typically used instead of Heparin and women seem to do well with that.

If your partner has MTHFR, there are links between infertility and MTHFR in men.

I would like to see you taking some methylfolate, a quality prenatal, probiotic, saccharomyces boulardii, CoQ10, vitamin D3 6,000 IU daily or get out in the Grecian sun for 30 minutes daily.

Please read this article on prenatal supplementation with MTHFR.
